This contract consists of the two-phase redevelopment of a doctors surgery in East London as part of a scheme to combine two existing Practices either side of Plaistow Park.

J Coffey Construction were tasked with constructing a new two-storey extension adjacent to an existing ‘live’ Surgery with a ‘shared’ access, whilst maintaining full access for patients & staff, and without disruption to the local public amenities.

The construction was traditional with strip foundations, masonry substructure supporting a suspended pre-cast concrete ground floor and a structural steel frame supporting a reinforced concrete composite first floor and a pitched timber & steel roof structure with a slate roof covering.

The accommodation in the new building provides ten additional Consulting Rooms, three Treatment Rooms, Recovery Rooms, Seminar Rooms as well as Staff areas plus a redesigned Reception.

Once the new build first phase was complete the current staff decanted in to the new accommodation to enable the remodelling & refurbishment of the existing Grade II building which was originally the hunting lodge of the Earl of Essex.

At all times it was vital that data/IT installations between the two phases were not interrupted.
