We are currently undertaking a project for ATC on behalf of Crossrail constructing the Plumstead Maintenance Facility. The site is located in south east London on an old waste disposal facility.

We are co-located in a central office forming a ‘One team’ project approach with ATC, Crossrail, other contractors and the design consultants Arup / Atkins.
The high level scope of the project consists of:-

  • Three non electrified infrastructure maintenance sidings
  • Accommodation building housing offices & welfare facilities
  • Maintenance building to maintain infrastructure rail vehicles
  • Storage facilities, the main one being the undercover stores
  • Vehicle parking and laydown areas
  • Various small ancillary buildings / structures

The J Coffey Infrastructure scope of works consists of the following aspects of the scope detailed above:-

  • Bulk excavation and removal of old foundations and hard standings
  • Deep drainage and connection to existing Thames Water sewer system
  • Foul and storm water drainage system
  • Reinforced concrete foundations for the accommodation building, maintenance building and the undercover stores
  • Cast in items including drainage, service / utility ducts and holding down bolts
  • New cast in situ reinforced concrete retaining walls
  • Installation of new rainwater harvesting tank, oil interceptor tanks and silt traps
  • Utility ducting and cast in situ reinforced concrete utility chambers and under track crossings
  • Train wash and train refuelling slabs

Project planned on a phased handover of the site to accommodate the construction & fit out of the main Crossrail tunnels.

Project team working closely with the client and Crossrail to ensure the project is delivered successfully, on time and on budget.
